Shark Bay, Western Australia

Shark Bay is located on Western Australia’s Coral Coast. The area is the westernmost point of the Australian mainland.

Shark Bay is a World Heritage site, listed by UNESCO for its:

  • Vast sea-grass beds, which are the largest in the world at 4,800km2
  • Dugong population
  • Stromatolites, colonies of algae forming hard deposits in the shallow waters and are among the oldest forms of life on earth.
